On June 12, Yan'an Wanda Jiahua Hotel opened its doors to the public with the grand opening of Yan'an Red Street, a large-scale red-themed cultural tourism project. The hotel features 178 guest rooms with a Shaanxi style and over 6,000 square metres of meeting and banqueting facilities, designed with a combination of the rustic style of Shaanxi folk houses, Yan'an red culture tradition and modern luxury travel convenience. Combined with the rich red tourism and red education and training facilities on Yan'an Red Street, Wanda Jiahua Hotel Yan'an will provide guests with a new experience of red heritage and red life through family trips and group red training activities.
Yan'an is a famous revolutionary holy place in Chinese history, and the revolutionary songs sung to this day in different periods, such as "Yellow River Cantata", "Shandan Blossom is Red" and "Nanniwan" ......, also express people's yearning and praise for northern Shaanxi and Yan'an. The Yan'an Wanda Jiahua Hotel was designed and built by the Wanda Hotel Design and Research Institute, and the furniture used was supplied and manufactured by Beijing Chengming Times Furniture Co. From the very beginning of the project, the design team sought to showcase the simple folk customs of Yan'an, embody the revolutionary spirit of the Red Holy Land and incorporate the marks of change of the times throughout the design process, combining the topography of the hotel, presenting the Yellow River plateau and kiln courtyard in a modern architectural way, and embellishing the history and folklore in the hotel space with traditional or contemporary artworks such as paper cuttings, oil paintings and reliefs.
The hotel is designed with a historical heritage in mind, and a new Yan'an for the times - Wanda Jiahua Hotel Yan'an
The Wanda Jiahua Hotel Yan'an takes its design inspiration from the scenic Baota Mountain in Yan'an and reinterprets the unique local elements of brick walls, kilns and wood carvings through modern design techniques, presenting a space that is both nostalgic and stylish, historical and modern at the same time. The bright and spacious hotel lobby makes use of the arched structure of the kiln to give the space a layered feel. At the top of the 12-metre high lobby, a red five-pointed star crystal chandelier, assembled from some 25,000 components, sets the solemn red tone of the hotel. Seven magnificent reliefs on the walls of the lobby illustrate the important historical events that shaped the Chinese revolution in Yan'an between 1934 and 1948, telling the story of the revolutionary spirit in an exquisite modern artistic style.
The hotel has 178 rooms with a Northern Shaanxi style, each with a view of the blue sky and the loess slopes of Yanhu Lake. The most distinctive of these rooms are the kiln rooms, which are designed on the basis of the traditional earthen kilns of northern Shaanxi. The rooms are furnished by Beijing Cm.star Furniture enterprise, with vaulted ceilings that retain the characteristics of the original dwellings, a northern earthen bed and warm antique wooden furniture, and a 3-metre wide earthen bed that provides an authentic Shaanxi lifestyle experience with the comfort of a modern hotel. The use of large areas of white and wood colours, together with modern lighting techniques, adds a sense of natural harmony while adding a modern touch to the traditional elements.
The hotel has a full-service restaurant, Fengnianting, and a Chinese
restaurant, Pinzhen, both of which continue the hotel's red tone and regional
character. 420 square metres of bright, spacious, red-coloured dining is
available in the Fengnianting full-service restaurant, which has 103 seats
indoors, 64 seats outdoors and a lake-view private dining room called
Qiankunwan. The six private dining rooms are all named after places in Yan'an,
which is impressive and in keeping with modern aesthetics and cultural
heritage.
"Red Lecture Theatre Conference Centre
"The Red Lecture Hall is a 6,000 sqm conference and banqueting facility located between the Yan'an Wanda Jiahua and Wanda Jinhua hotels, interconnected by a corridor, and is a shared meeting room and banquet hall for the hotel complex. "The Red Lecture Hall is divided into two floors, with a pillar-free grand ballroom of 15 metres in height and 2,100 square metres in area, a pillar-free small ballroom of 8.5 metres in height and nearly 500 square metres in area, and five multi-functional rooms of 86-164 square metres that can be divided flexibly. The Red Lecture Hall's lobby space continues the kiln arch structure of the hotel complex and uses a large block design with a layered log ceiling and a large bronze relief called "Red Yan'an" to create a simple yet majestic sense of space. Meanwhile, the experienced banqueting team and skilled chefs will cater to guests' needs, providing them with a one-stop conference butler service.
A hundred years in the Red City, a new look
Yan'an Wanda Jiahua Hotel is conveniently located for transportation.
